There's something so magical about going to the beach in the summer.
Maybe it's feeling the sun's warm kiss on your face on a cloudless day, or perhaps it's the way the ocean can make you feel so small compared to it's (seeming) infiniteness. Either way, it is definitely a place that that I consider a neccessary trip this time of year. After all, beach trips just scream summer.

My annual beach trip was a little bit different, and a whole lot more special this year. This time, I got to enjoy the waves and rays with the most precious little girl in the world, Miss Lilah Grace.

One of the coolest things that I love most about being a mom is getting to see this tiny human, new to the world and all that it has to offer, experience things for the first time. It's incredible.

Even though she probably won't remember it, I will cherish moments like those forever.

When I first set her down in the sand, she scooted her little feet around. I offered her some sand in my hand to touch, and she wasn't a huge fan. She's super picky with textures. After that I introduced her to ocean waves for the first time. She was cautious about sitting down in the water at first, but much to my surprise (and delight) started crawling around in the shallows really quickly. She LOVED it. She even tried to swim (crawl) out to sea a few times, not even caring about the waves ahead of her. It was hilarious, and adorable.

All in all, the weather was perfect, and we had the time of our lives. I'm so happy that I got to experience such a special time with such a special little girl. Until next time, Galveston!
