HAPPY NATIONAL FRAGRANCE DAY: MY FAVORITE PERFUMES

Happy National Fragrance Day everyone! I didn't even know this day existed, but I'm so glad that it does because it gives me an excuse to write a little post raving about my favorite scents.

For the majority of my life, I wasn't a big fan of perfume. In fact, when I was a little girl, I thought perfume was something that only came in heavy powdery-floral scents that old women loved to use. Of course I was totally wrong, and in the past couple years, I have discovered and fallen in love with several different scents. Whether you like fresh, floral scents, or warm, sensual ones, there really is a fragrance out there for everyone!

I hope you enjoy reading a bit about my favorite perfumes!

1. Pink Sugar Perfume (Not Pictured)

This is definitely my all time favorite perfume. I didn't include it in my pictures because I've used it so much that the bottle is very worn down and doesn't even have a label anymore. This perfume is  very sugary sweet and girly with key notes of vanilla and caramel. It just smells absolutely delicious and I get so many compliments whenever I wear it. The staying power is also absolutely incredible. However be forewarned- if you are sensitive to sweet scents or are looking for a more sophisticated scent, this might not be for you.

2. Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black

I received this perfume in rollerball size as a Christmas gift and fell in love. It is a very fall and winter appropriate scent- warm, with notes of violet, sandalwood, and vanilla. It is such a unique scent. It comes close to being a men's scent, but has enough of a feminine note to it to keep it a women's perfume. I couldn't stop smelling my wrist when I first wore it. Give it a whiff the next time you're in Sephora!

3. Philosophy Fresh Cream

I've had this one a couple years now. I first heard about the scent through YouTube makeup artist Jaclyn Hill who talked about its lotion counterpart, and after sampling it in store, I knew I had to have it. In case you can't tell by now, I am a fan of warm, sweet scents. I like the way they smell on me, and they don't give me a headache like most floral scents do. Fresh Cream has is a delicate, fresh, and creamy scent that truly lives up to it's name.

4. DKNY Be Delicious

This is an oldie but a goodie. I have loved this scent for years. I have it in rollerball form right now so I can take it on the go. It is a great refreshing everyday scent with notes of apple, flowers, and sensual woods.

5. Marc Jacobs Dot

This is the one Marc Jacobs fragrance I can wear without getting a headache. Since the Marc Jacob scents tend to have heavy floral notes, I stay away from them. However this one smells amazing, and I'm so glad that I got a chance to try it after finding it in rollerball form at Marshall's. It has notes of berries, dragonfruit, honeysuckle, vanilla, driftwood, and musk. The packaging is adorable too.

6. Vera Wang Be Jewled

This perfume is a subtle floral scent with notes of pomegranate, champagne, red currant, passionfruit, florals, and pink sugar crystal. It is delicate and feminine. It's one of the only floral perfumes that I can wear. I like it in the spring since it is light and fresh.

Those are all my favorite perfumes at the moment! I don't have a large collection of scents since I just started appreciating perfume in the last year or so, but there are so many perfumes out right now that I would love to try out! So, go spritz on your favorite perfume in honor of national fragrance day, and tell me all about the scents you love in the comments down below!

  1. I have a few perfumes, but until this year, have never made an effort to wear them. I used to prefer to save them for special occasions & then promptly forget to use them because they weren't part of my routine! I've been making a conscious effort to use them this year & really loving it. I got DKNY Be Delicious as I read apple scents were calming. I'm not sure if it's truly working or if I'm just experiencing a placebo effect, but I don't really care - it works to reduce some of the stress when I'm feeling overwhelmed. Xx

    1. Tania, thanks for your response! I'm glad you're enjoying Be Delicious, I can definitely see how apple scents could be calming, and I am enjoying it as well. Take care!
