REVIEW + SWATCHES: TOO FACED SWEETHEART PERFECT FLUSH BLUSH

Hello lovelies! Today I want to talk about a makeup product that I've been really excited to try out and review with you all. It's the Too Faced Sweetheart Perfect Flush Blush in "Something About Berry." Whew, that's a mouthful, isn't it?

I managed to snag this product during one of Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty, so I ended up getting it for only $15, which is such a steal considering it normally comes with a $30 price tag. I love the 21 Days of Beauty because it's the only time I can really buy high end makeup without feeling like I'm splurging.

Anyways, without further ado I'll get into my review of this gorgeous blush!

Packaging:
Too Faced always has the cutest, girliest packaging. Though that might not be everyone's cup of tea, I really love it. The packaging on this blush is a cardboard heart shaped box with a lid that fits over the top. While I don't mind the size, I can see how it might be considered bulky for traveling purposes. It is perfect for display though. The box for this particular shade is a vibrant hot pink with metallic gold detailing. It's a stunning design.

Formula/Texture:
This is a baked blush, so it does have a bit of a drier texture to it in comparison to creamy blushes. However, I've noticed that the top layer has the roughest texture, and when you get past it, it is a lot softer and smoother. It does contain glitter, but it is not chunky or overly-sparkly. It is finely milled and creates a lovely glow on the skin.

Pigmentation:
This blush has good initial pigment, but it's also buildable, which I love because you have more control over how intense of a color payoff you get. That also means that you can create a more natural look and finish which I think is great.

Application:
This blush applies like a dream. You can get a natural, radiant finish with one application, and a more intense look with each application after that. It applies evenly, smoothly, and blends out well.

Staying Power:
I've found that while this definitely does not have the longest staying power on the market for blushes, it lasts a good amount of time. When I wore it, it stayed on my cheeks for a good 6-7 hours, which is good enough in my book.

Overall Product:
What I love most about this blush is the versatility of the looks you can create. This blush virtually includes four different shades: three distinct stripes of color, plus another shade obtained by swirling all the colors together. If you really want to, you could also choose to selectively combine the first shade with the second, or the first shade with the third, and so on. You can really experiment with what shades you like best together or which ones go best with the look you're trying to create.

Like I mentioned above, this blush does have glitter in it. Glitter does tend to emphasize flaws in the skin and pores. I haven't noticed a problem with that when I use this blush though, and I definitely have both of those skin issues.

As far as the colors included in this blush, they are, like the shade name says, berry tones. The top shade is a described as a "shimmering mauve pink," the middle a "golden peach" shade, and the bottom a "shimmering magenta pink." Swirled together they create a lovely mauvey-peach toned color.

Swatches (in order of how they appear in the blush from top to bottom): top shade, middle shade, bottom shade, and swirled together.

Although I did love everything about this blush, I felt as though a different shade in this line might be more flattering for my particular complexion. Even though it looked pretty on my cheeks, I've noticed that peachy toned blushes tend to look the best on me, so I think I will be exchanging this shade for Peach Beach or Sparkling Bellini from the same line. All the shades have the same wonderful formula, so if berry toned blushes aren't for you, there are other shades in the line that will definitely work. If I do end up exchanging it, I will do a quick post swatching the one I get up getting.

All in all, I think that this is a great versatile blush that can create a healthy, glowing look. I also think that this particular shade could be flattering on a variety of skin tones. If you are on the market for a new blush that will give you a vibrant, glowing look in time for spring and summer, this is it!

Well that's the end of my review! I hope that you all find this helpful, and enjoy your time reading it. I absolutely love writing product reviews!

  1. This blush set is beyond pretty. I haven't managed to get my hands on it just yet, but I think this has just persuaded me to move it up my wish list.
