APRIL SUBSCRIPTION BOXES: IPSY, BOXYCHARM, & GLOSSYBOX

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to talk to you all about the three subscription boxes that I received for the month of April!

As most of you probably know, subscription boxes are super popular right now, so I wanted to try some out so I could see what all the hype was about! I also decided to get them because, let's be real... if you know me you know I am addicted to buying and trying out new makeup and beauty products. Especially lipsticks, but we won't get into that right now.

Anyways, after watching some of my favorite YouTube beauty gurus talk about their favorite subscription boxes and seeing what sorts of products they received, I decided to try out Ipsy, Boxycharm, and Glossybox

In this post I'll give you a little general info on each box, show the products inside + give you a little review on the ones I've tried out, and tell you the prices of both the box and the value of what's inside so you can get an idea of the value of each one. It's going to be a pretty long post, so hang on for the ride! Hope you enjoy!

(From top to bottom: Ipsy, Glossybox, Boxycharm)

The first box I'm going to talk about is called Ipsy! This one is more like a subscription bag rather than a subscription box. Ipsy is $10 a month with free shipping, so it's the more affordable one of the three. With this subscription you will receive deluxe sample sized as well as sometimes full sized products. With Ipsy, they do not send out the same products to everyone. They pick them for you based on your beauty profile and preferences. Every month the products come in a unique little cosmetic bag, which I think is a really cute idea (even though you might end up an abundant makeup bag collection after a while).

This month I received 5 products, 3 of which were full sized, and 2 of which were deluxe samples.

1. Tarte LipSurgence Lip Creme in Wonder: This was a deluxe sample size. It's a cubby stick type of lip product. I really liked this! It was very comfortable to wear, and was a lovely coraly-pink shade.

2. OFRA Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Bohemian ($12): This was full sized, and was a very pretty brown/bronze shade. It was so smooth and pigmented and blended like a dream. Very impressed!

3. Live and Breathe Beauty "Just Blending In" Brush ($7): Full Sized blending brush for eye shadow! Its a soft brush that would be great to blend a crease color.

4. Harvey Prince Organics Keravegan Hair Mask: This is a deluxe sample size. I haven't tried this yet, but it's supposed to be amazing for damaged hair.

5. Probelle Nail Lacquer in "In or Out" ($6): I haven't worn this nail color yet, but it's a pretty shade that's great for spring.

Overall, I was impressed by my first Ipsy bag! Not counting the deluxe samples, the full sized products I received were already worth double of what I paid! I'm looking forward to next months!

The next box I'll be talking about is BOXYCHARM! This box is $21 a month (free shipping) and includes 4-5 full sized items. I was most excited for this box because BOXYCHARM tends to be the best value when it comes to subscription beauty boxes. They are often worth over $100! Everyone will get the same products, which I like, but there are sometimes shade differences. For the April box I received 5 full sized items.

1. Your Minerals Eye Shimmer in Brown Hypnotic ($21): This is a loose powder eyeshadow pot. The shade is a gorgeous brown shade with rose gold shimmers in it. It's really pigmented! The only thing is that there's fallout, so I recommend something like Mac Fix + to keep it in place.

2.  Blinc Cosmetics Black Lash Primer ($26): You use this product before applying your normal mascara. It claims to plump and separate lashes and make them the blackest of black. I liked this because normally lash primers are white, so a black one was appealing. I actually love this! It definitely makes a difference in my lash volume. It can be clumpy if you're not careful though.

3. Pur-Lisse Lip Comfort ($16): Enriched with mango butter, Shea butter, Jojoba Oil, Rice Bran Oil, and Vitamin E, this potroleum free lip balm claims to heal and moisturize lips. It feels nice on, and smells good!

4. Anderson Lilley Manhattan Beach Hand Cream ($24): This hand cream has a very fresh scent. I prefer a more sweet scented hand cream, but this has a nice smell and does moisturize well.

5. OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick ($19.90): I was so excited for this! I have heard so much about OFRA's liquid lipsticks and how amazing they are. I got the shade Honolulu, which is a dark burgundy color. It is definitely not a spring shade, and a bit dark for me to like to wear this time of year, but it will be so lovely this fall and winter! The formula feels mousse-y and soft on the lips. It's a little drying but not the worst. It's very pretty!

Overall, I really liked my first BOXYCHARM! I am amazed at the value of what I received compared to what I paid. This wasn't the most incredible box product wise from what I've seen in the past from them, but it was nice and I will use a lot of the things in it.

Last, but not least, was GLOSSYBOX! In each GLOSSYBOX there are 5-6 either luxury-sized samples and often full sized products. This box is $21 with free shipping. The value of the boxes often exceeds $70. The packaging of this box is gorgeous. They put a lot of attention to detail. Let's get into what I got!

1. Biossance The Nourisher Precious Rose Face Oil: This was a luxury-sized sample. It's an adorable bottle! I was hesitant to try this since I have oily skin, but it felt really nice and my skin was left soft and moisturized once it was absorbed. It has uses rose extract and Vitamin C.

2. Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Linger ($20): This is a full sized double ended brow pencil. One side has the brow color and the other a highlight. The only downside to this pencil is that you have to sharpen it since it's not a twist up. Otherwise, it's a nice product! It goes on smoothly and is a nice taupe color.

3. Not Your Mothers Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray ($3): I actually own this already! This is the travel size. It smells delicious, like coconut. I find the best way to use it is in wet hair. Spray it in after getting out of the shower, give your hair a scrunch, and it will dry beautifully!

4. Leighton Denny Expert Nails in Pillow Talk ($19): First off, I am obsessed with this bottle! It's so pretty. The shade is gorgeous too. It's a light red with pinky undertones, almost a berry! It went on well and was very opaque. The lasting power on its own was average.

5. UNANI Dermo Defense Mask ($18): I haven't tried this facial mask yet, but I can't wait to! It says that prompts cell renewal and regeneration, which is always a great ability in skin care. It's clear, gel which is interesting.

I really liked my first GLOSSYBOX! I liked that it had some beauty products and also a lot of skin care! Since my other boxes are primarily makeup, it's nice to get things like face oil and face masks.

Well that's it for my April subscription boxes! I might break them up next moth instead of doing one long post, I was just testing the waters. Anyways, I hope that you enjoyed my review, and that if you're considering one of these boxes, that my review helped you make your decision! It's so fun getting surprise products in the mail every month, and awesome when they are truly a great value! I think out of all three boxes I would recommend BOXYCHARM the most since it's a great value. However, I liked the products in GLOSSYBOX the most this month.

We'll see what next month brings!

Stay tuned for more posts soon!
