If you're like me, the weather can really affect your mood. I love bright and sunny days; they make me feel positive, energetic, and ready to take on the world. Rainy days tend to have the opposite effect on me. They make me feel really lazy and I usually end up laying around and watching Netflix all day.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love lazy days, but when the place you live in has rain in the forecast for the next two weeks straight (thanks Texas weather), I still want to be able to be productive and do something a bit more worthwhile than watch t.v in my pjs for days on end. Of course there will be some Netflix days thrown in there, but there are so many other great things you can do on a rainy day.

So, I thought I'd make a quick post on this gloomy Texas day to share with y'all some of my fav ways to pass the time on a rainy day. Hope you enjoy!

1. Grab a great book & read, read, read!

I absolutely love to read. There's nothing better than getting lost in a good book. But, it's a bit hard to find time to read for fun during the semester when your professors expect you to read a billion chapters a night. A rainy summer day is the perfect opportunity for me to get into a book I've been meaning to read for a while.

2. Get some exercise in!

A rainy day is a great opportunity to get to the gym for a great workout. When I'm feeling bored or lazy, a workout is just the thing to make me feel more energized and motivated. Another option if you don't want to leave your house is to find a good workout video on YouTube and do it at home. Yoga is one of my personal favorites when I'm not feeling a high intensity workout. You'll feel so fantastic after all those endorphins get released that you'll forget about the ugly weather outside.

3. Clean & Organize!

I know this sounds super lame and far from fun, but nothing makes me feel more relaxed and like I have my life together (lol as if), than a clean, organized home. There's something so therapeutic and satisfying about organizing things. What better opportunity to do that than a rainy day stuck inside? You will feel productive and much more at peace in your home. But, if you hate cleaning, and messes don't bother you, disregard this one. (;

4. Have a pampering day!

Take a nice bath with some bubbles, or use that Lush bath bomb you've been saving for a special occasion and just relax. Put on a face mask, do your nails, and test out that deep conditioner recipe you came across on Pinterest. I love giving myself a pampering day, and rainy days are the perfect excuse for it.

5. Bake something delicious!

Baking is something I love to do but don't get the chance to indulge in that often. There are sooo many amazing sounding Pinterest recipes that I would love to try out. Baking is a great way to keep you and your families tummies full and happy on a rainy day. If you have kids, I guarantee that they would love to help you. It can be a fun activity for the whole family!

And that's it! I hope you enjoyed reading about 5 of the things I love doing on a rainy day, and I hope you now have some new ideas to pass the time on the next occasion your weather isn't up to par.
