Hi everyone, and welcome to Blogtober Day 4!
Halloween is coming so fast, I can't believe that it's over halfway through the month already! Crazy, right? I've been absolutely swamped with class assignments which is why I haven't posted as many Blogtober posts as I would have liked, but I'm doing the best I can so I'm happy about that.
Today I'm going to be talking about my October Ipsy bag I just received a couple days ago. This month has an adorable "Black Magic"-witch-Halloween sort of theme so I thought it would be absolutely perfect for a Blogtober post! For those who don't know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that costs $10 for 5-6 sample or full sized products. You can read a little more about it in my post
here.
So, without further ado, let's get into what I got in my bag this month!
First of all, HOW CUTE IS THIS BAG? I'm seriously obsessed with it. I love all the cute little pictures on it, and it definitely gives off a Halloween vibe. I think Ipsy did a great job with the theme this month, and card and bag and whole "Black Magic" concept is- excuse the corny Halloween pun- Spooktacular! The little zipper even has an adorable little ghost on it. I will definitely be using this for my makeup for the rest of this month.
Now for the products inside:
1. Ciaté London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner
Honestly, I wasn't thrilled to be receiving another black eyeliner in a subscription box. I have a small collection of black eyeliners that have accumulated the last 7 months from subscription boxes and didn't need any more. However, I was happy that it was a felt tipped liner since that's what I primarily use on my eyes.
With that being said, this is a good eyeliner! It's a sample size, but it's very pigmented, very black, and good quality. I think it fits nicely into the theme of the bag with it's packaging and whatnot.
2. theBalm Cosmetics "Hot Mama" Blush
I think this is a gorgeous shade of blush. It's creamy, pigmented, and has a really pretty sheen.
However, the sample size is kind of ridiculous. It's about the size of a dime, with the packaging taking up far more space than the actual product. I just don't know how I would use it as a blush since I don't know how a blush brush would fit into such a tiny pan. We'll see.
3. Noyah Natural Lipstick in "Smoke"
Another teeny, tiny sample product. At least this one is actually functional.
I like the formula of this lipstick. It's creamy, smooth, and moisturizing. It has Vitamin B and shea butter in it as well which is great. This brand loves using natural ingredients which is also a plus. I think, had I gotten another shade, I would have loved this lipstick and used it frequently. However, "smoke" is a lavender/gray tone shade that is too light for my lip color.
4. INDI Beauty Buttercream Antioxidant Lip Scrub
I LOVE this. This is by far my favorite product in this month's bag. I've been meaning to get a good lip scrub for a while and this one fits the bill.
I take a little bit on my finger and rub it gently on my lips in a circular motion. It exfoliates so well, and leaves your lips SUPER moisturized and crazy soft thanks to the shea butter, sweet almond oil, avocado and Vitamin E it has in it. It also tastes and smells so incredible. I've been using it before applying lipstick and it's perfect. I wish it was full size because I have a feeling I'll go through this pretty quickly.
5. Lottie London Perfectly Precise Eyeshadow Brush
Eh, brushes don't normally excite me too much. But, this one's a nice one. I love the color of the brush and the bristles, it's very soft, and the brush as a whole seems to be good quality. I'll definitely get use out of it.
Swatches Top to Bottom: Hot Mama Blush, Smoke Lipstick, Fierce Flicks Eyeliner
And that's it for my Ipsy bag for the month of October! I think overall it was a good bag, and I loved that they did a Halloween theme for this month.
Stay tuned for Blogtober Day 5 coming soon!
Ah, I miss being subscribed to Ipsy! This box isn't too bad. There's some great stuff in here :)
