Hi y'all!

It's officially July, which means not only is it finally the month I get to meet this baby (yay!), but it's also SCORCHING outside here in Texas.

Seeing as how it's been 9348203948 years since I've done a beauty post on here, I figured I would share my summer makeup essentials/recommendations with all of you! Mama life has been all consuming, and while I've loved sharing that part of my life with all of you, I originally started this blog to share my beauty recommendations, so I figured it was about time for a new beauty post.

So, let's jump into my personal summer makeup essentials and recommendations! These are a few products I love for an everyday summer makeup look that I feel comfortable wearing during these hot days without worrying about anything feeling too heavy or it all sliding off my face. Hope y'all enjoy!

1. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Face Makeup Primer

You can totally skip the primer step when it comes to summer makeup, but since I have oily skin, I enjoy using a little bit of a pore-filling primer in my T-zone before I go in with any face makeup. I find that it helps keep the oils at bay in the heat. I've used the Maybelline Baby Skin primer for years now, and I've always liked the way it worked. It definitely reminds me of the Smashbox Photo Finish primer, but without the high price tag.

2. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+

For a day to day makeup look in the summer, I generally prefer to wear something a bit lighter than a foundation, but I still want a semi decent coverage. The IT Cosmetics CC Cream fits the bill perfectly! It is light, still looks like skin, but covers redness and discoloration pretty darn well. It leaves your skin with a natural glow, and wears super well in the heat. I love that it has SPF 50 in it as well, it's really helpful to not have to worry about wearing sunscreen underneath your face makeup.

3. IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil

If you have naturally full, amazing brows then you can skip this step in your summer makeup routine (also I'm jealous). I have sparse brows that I need to fill in usually on an everyday basis, so a good, long-lasting brow pencil is an essential for me in the summer. I've really liked the IT Cosmetics Brow Power pencil. The thicker, slanted tip makes filling in my brows a quick task, and it has stood up really well in the summer heat.

4. Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzing Powder

If you've read this blog for a long time, you'll know that the Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzing Powder is one of my holy grail beauty products. While I don't usually opt for setting powder or blush for my everyday summer makeup look, I cannot live without a little bronzer. It brings so much life to your face, and a sun-kissed look is very summer appropriate. This bronzer has the perfect natural undertones and lasts incredibly well.

5. butter LONDON Double Decker Lashes Mascara

No summer makeup look is complete without mascara! I tend to skip the eyeshadow and the liner in the summer, and opt for a good mascara and thick, full lashes. This butter LONDON one has been my go-to ever since I tried it out in a makeup subscription box. It gives such voluminous, long lashes, and doesn't smudge in the heat even though I don't wear waterproof.

6. Essence Pure Nude Highlighter

If I feel like my makeup is looking a little too flat, I'll add just a hint of highlighter on my cheekbones and along the bridge of my nose for an extra glowy look with minimal effort. I feel like a touch of highlighter brings so much to a natural makeup look. The Essence Pure Nude Highlighter is INCREDIBLE and under $5. I've talked about it here on the blog before, and I still stand by it as one of my all time favorite highlighters. It's perfect because it has zero glitter, and creates a natural, subtle glow.

7. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

Last but not least, is a lip color. Unless I'm wearing a full makeup look, I tend to avoid heavy lipsticks and liquid lipsticks in the summer, but can't stand bare lips. I'll opt for a tinted balm or a light lipgloss instead. I just feel that is looks so nice and fresh with a natural makeup look. Speaking of fresh, the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment balms are perfect for summer. I love the Rose shade, it is a perfect universal pink tone, and it provides moisture, SPF protection, and a perfect sheen of color.

Well that completes my summer makeup essentials! These, or products like these, are the ones you'll catch me wearing on an everyday basis in the Texas summer heat. I hope you enjoyed this post, and got some new ideas on how to change up your makeup routine for summer!

  1. I love the baby skin Maybelline products! The sugar scrub lip treatment also sounds wonderful-may have to add that to my Target list. :)

  2. That baby skin is literally the best! Also dying to try that CC cream!

  3. Bronzer and highlighters are two musts in my summer makeup. I'm a little on the drier and paler side, so i need as much help in those departments as possible! I had no idea Butter London had a mascara now though, so I' suppppper curious about that.

  4. There would be not really any individual who might not want to look delightful. Throughout some stretch of time beauty gradually disappears inferable from age and what's left are indications of maturing. TKTX numbing cream
